UI Design is the look and style of how an interface looks in software or computer devices.

  1. Be consistent

Be consistent and have the same font, layout, and design on each page. When a user learns something on one page, they should have a better understanding of how it works on a different page. It will help users better understand how the website works. If you have the menu on the top of one page, then it should be on the top of all the rest of the webpages.

  2. Be clear

Be clear in what you are saying. Do not overuse computer terms without explaining what they mean. Have a user move from one page to the next in a logical order. For example, when buying something. Have a user add it to their cart, click check out, fill out the information, and then checkout.

  3. Match with the system and the real world

Make sure to mirror items and concepts you would find in the real world or another website. An example is a search bar. Amazon, Google, YouTube, and others have it at the top of the webpage. So on you, you should have it on the top so other people can find it easier.

  4. Have feedback

If a user clicks on a button after entering information, let them know their action was a success. If the user is loading something, give the user a loading bar to let them know how long they have to wait, and then something saying it was successfully uploaded.

  5. Know your user

When designing your website, know the user and what they are looking for. Have what is most important on the home page, so it is easy to find. When picking out images, colors, font, and other design options for your website, knowing the audience can help a lot. If your audience is adults, you do not want all kid colors or images.
